  • Tallied 27 points, including four goals and 23 assists, in 39 games for the Eagles
    • Ranked 11th among NCAA defensemen in scoring and second among NCAA freshmen defensemen

  • Member of the U.S. National Under-18 Team that competed in the United States Hockey League and against NCAA Division I and Division III opponents and international teams

  • Son of Tom and Kerry
  • Father, Tom, played in the NHL for 17 years with seven teams. Currently the assistant general manager for the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, he won the Stanley Cup in 2009 as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Brother, Ryan, was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round, 120th overall, of the 2013 NHL Draft and is in his senior season with Boston College
  • Cousins, Jimmy and Kevin Hayes, play professional hockey. 
  • Jimmy is currently with the Boston Bruins and skated with the NTDP from 2006-08. Kevin played four years (2010-14) with Boston college and signed with the New York Rangers. Both Jimmy and Kevin were members of the 2014 U.S. Men’s National Team
  • Cousin, Matthew Tkachuk, was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the first round, sixth overall, of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Tkachuk earned a bronze medal with the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team and won a gold medal alongside Fitzgerald at the 2015 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship. 
  • Tkachuk’s father, Keith, played in the NHL for 19 years with four teams and amassed over 500 goals and 1,000 points.   Inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011, he also represented the United States on eight occasions, helping Team USA win the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey event, a silver medal at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and a bronze medal at the 1992 IIHF World Junior Championship
  • Participated in the 2014 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo, New York
