MCAVOY TURNS 19
Celebrations are in order as defenseman and alternate captain Charlie McAvoy (Long Beach, N.Y./Boston University) turns 19. He is the third U.S. player to be celebrating his birthday since camp began on Dec. 16. Last Sunday (Dec. 18),  forward Alex DeBrincat (Farmington Hills, Mich,/Erie Otters) also celebrated his 19th birthday while goaltender Jake
Oettinger 
(Lakeville, Minn./Boston University) turned 18.

MORNING SKATE
The United States hits the ice for the first time in Canada here at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario. Morning skate is set for 10-11am followed by a team lunch. Most player will take a quick nap before reporting back to the rink for the team's first pre-tournament game tonight against Switzerland. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET and fans can follow the action via Twitter @USAHockeyScores. Game notes and line chart will be provided later today.

TOURNAMENT HOSTS JOIN TEAM USA
Team USA  has two team hosts -- J.F. Beaupre and Ryan Hancock -- who joined the team yesterday in Oshawa and will remain embedded with the squad throughout its stay here in Canada. The duo, who fulfilled this same role during the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, will ensure Team USA has a seamless experience during its time in Canada for this year's tournament. From Montreal, Beaupre’s full- time job is as plant manager at Numest in Laval, Quebec, a city just outside of Montreal. Hancock is a risk manager for Mercedes Benz in Toronto.

WHITE JOINS "STELLICK AND SIMMER IN THE MORNING"
This morning, forward and alternate captain Colin White (Hanover, Mass./Boston College) spoke with Gord Stellick and Rob Simpson on Sirius XM/NHL Network Radio's "Stellick and Simmer in the Morning." Topics of the call included his thoughts on the Ottawa Senators, who drafted him in the first round, 21st overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft, his outlook on this year's team, on being named an alternate captain for the U.S. National Junior Team for the second consecutive year, and more.
