U.S. ROSTER SET FOR REMAINDER OF 2017 WJSS
The U.S. roster for the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase has been trimmed to 34 players for the final four days of the camp. For the final roster, click here.
“As a staff, we have been very pleased with the level of intensity and competitiveness we’ve seen so far,” said Jim Johannson, general manager of the 2018 U.S. National Junior Team and also assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. “It’s evident there is depth at every position and that is certainly a big positive as we continue the evaluation process the rest of this week and throughout the fall.”
“One of the things we told our players is that, whether someone stays or goes, it’s not an indication that you’re one step closer or farther from making this team in December,” said Bob Motzko, head coach of the 2018 U.S. National Junior Team. “History shows that some players who get released are still very much in the mix, as are some kids who aren’t even here. There is still a lot of hockey between now and December and we’re excited to continue evaluating each and every one of these guys.”
