DECEMBER 22: DAY EIGHT

The U.S. National Junior Team held its final skate in Jamestown, New York, from 10-10:45am ET before boarding a bus to Erie, Pennsylvania, for its final pre-tournament game against Sweden. In a tight checking game, the United States came out with a 3-1 win.

BOARDING FOR BUFFALO
After its game in Erie, Pa., the United States will board its bus and take off for Buffalo, New York, where it will have a few days of practices before opening its tournament on Dec. 26 against Denmark. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be televised live on NHL Network. Tickets are also on sale now here.

TONIGHT'S GAME: USA 3, SWE 1
Kailer Yamamoto (Spokane, Wash./Spokane Chiefs) scored the game-winning goal with 6:55 left to play as the United States edged Sweden, 3-1, here at Eden Insurance Arena in its final pre-tournament game ahead of the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior ChampionshipCasey Mittelstadt (Eden Prairie, Minn./University of Minnesota) opened the scoring with a power play goal and Trent Frederic (St. Louis, Mo./University of Wisconsin) sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute of play. Goaltenders Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn./Boston University) and Jeremy Swayman (Anchorage, Alaska/University of Maine) split time in net in the win.
