Defender Sidney Morin and Forward Amanda Pelkey are two of 13 players making Olympic debuts this month in PyeongChang, South Korea. 

Defender Sidney Morin (Minnetonka, Minn.) is making her Olympic debut in PyeongChang after skating with the National Team for four pre-Olympic exhibitions this year. In her first post-NCAA season with MODO Hockey of the SDHL, Morin collected 10 goals and 22 assists in 21 games. She previously skated four years at the University of Minnesota Duluth, appearing in 147 contests and notching 70 points. Morin was a member of the silver medal-winning 2013 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team at the 2013 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Heinola and Vierumaki, Finland.

Forward Amanda Pelkey (Montpelier, Vt.) is also making her Olympic debut this month in South Korea. Pelkey helped Team USA earn a pair of gold medals at the 2016 and 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship, in addition to titles at the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Four Nations Cups. Pelkey, who also won gold medals with the U.S. at the 2009 and 2011 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championships, played four seasons and the University of Vermont and finished her career as the program’s all-time leader with 105 points, 49 goals and 56 assists. She also helped the Boston Pride win the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016.
