The U.S. was back on the ice today for its semifinal match-up against team Finland and came out victorious. The U.S. defeated Finland for the second time in the tournament, this time 5-0.

GAME RECAP
Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, Minn.) netted two goals and added an assist, and 10 more U.S. players got on the score sheet in today’s 5-0 semifinal win over Finland. Maddie Rooney (Andover, Minn.) earned her first-ever Olympic shutout, stopping all 14 shots she faced.

Earliest Hockey Memory: At learn-to-skate with my brother, I remember wearing a mouthguard and hating it so I cried and got off the ice. But my mom said if I stopped then I wouldn’t be able to do it again so I sucked it up. I think once I made my first pass I was hooked.

-Sample Breakfast: 4 eggs, tomato slices, 1 avocado, protein smoothie

Best Piece of Advice She’s Received: From my mom: “The cream always rises to the top." From when I was 10 years old, she continually says it to remind me if you work hard and you are a good person and good leader, then things will always end in your favor.

Olympic Role Model: Julie Chu: She is a huge reason why I am still playing today.
