David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.) and Kyle Zych (South Hadley, Mass.) each produced multi-point performances, four other players collected a point and Griffin LaMarre (Haverhill, Mass.) earned his second consecutive shutout as the U.S. Developmental Sled Hockey Team topped Canada, 5-0, to win the three-game series today at the 2016 Defi Sportif in Montreal, Quebec.

“Everyone contributed and it was a terrific team win,” said Mike MacMillan, head coach of the U.S. Developmental Sled Hockey Team. “I’m proud of the way we competed and closed the season with back-to-back shutout victories.”

Vlad Lundquist (Colorado Springs, Colo.) opened the scoring with 4:34 remaining in the opening frame when he fired home a loose puck in the slot.  Kelsey DiClaudio (Pittsburgh, Pa.) doubled the lead 58 seconds later with a wrist shot from the hashmarks.

The U.S. made it 3-0 when Zych connected on the power play 5:42 into the middle stanza.

Zych found the back of the net again 5:02 into the final frame for his second of the game and fourth the series. Eustace, who assisted on Zych’s second goal, scored 2:32 later to account for the 5-0 final.
