BIDDEFORD, Maine – In the final day of the U18 Select Girls’ Player Development Camp, Team Gold and Team Blue faced off at 8:00 a.m.  and Team Red and Team White followed at 10:00 a.m. for the championship.

In the opening tilt, Team Blue took a 4-0 lead in the first period. Veronika Pettey (Southeastern) scored 23 seconds into the period and was assisted by Lindsey Czech (Minnesota). Team Blue made it 2-0 five minutes later with a goal from Katherine Tresca (Massachusetts), assisted by Grace Zumwinkle (Minnesota). Four minutes later, Pettey added another to make the score 3-0. Team Blue’s fourth goal of the period was scored on the power play by Taylor Heise (Minnesota). Giana Savastano (New England) assisted on the play.

Team Gold got on the board early in the second period with a goal from Grace Middleton (Michigan) and Eleanor Moser (Minnesota) assisted on the play to cut the lead to 4-1.

Team Blue extended their lead to 5-1 at the 13-minute mark in the second period as Pettey completed her hat trick. She was assisted by Britta Curl (Northern Plains) and Taylor Stewart (Minnesota).

Kylie Hanley scored 11 seconds into the third period for Team Gold to reduce Blue’s lead to 5-2. Eight minutes later, Team Gold’s Maureen Murphy (New York) scored to finish the game at 5-3.

Team White finished the week undefeated and captured the camp championship by defeating Team Red, 4-0.

After a scoreless first period, Taylor Wente (Minnesota) scored four minutes into the second period. Sharon Frankel (New England) made it 2-0 just eight seconds later.

Emily Oden (Minnesota) notched a goal at the seven-minute mark of the third period. Dominiquie Petrie (Pacific) tallied the fourth and final goal, and was assisted by Wente and Madeline Wethington (Minnesota).
