Black Rolls in Game One: In the first game of the tournament on Sunday afternoon, Team Black opened with a victory over Gold, 7-0. Goaltenders Dustin Wolf (Tustin, Cal.) and Dylan Ringheiser (Pine Hill, N.J.)combined to make 23 saves to shutout Gold through 50 minutes of action. Offensively, Black received two points each from five different skaters, including Dylan Davies (Traverse City, Mich., 2G), Joseph Santoro (Wolcott, Conn. 2G), Everest Schneider (San Antonio, Texas, 1G, 1A), Jacob Cook (Cadillac, Mich., 2A) and Mason Kruse (Brainerd, Minn., 2A).

Goalies Starting Hot: Other than the combined shutout for Wolf and Ringheiser, five other goalies completed spotless halves of action in their first game of the tournament. Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn., Teal, 14 saves), Marco Duronio (Rochester, Mich., White, 13 saves), Kyle Chauvette (New Boston, N.H., Kelly, 14 saves), Joshua Langford (Frisco, Tex., Orange, 10 saves) and Robbie Nuchereno (Williamsville, N.Y., Royal, 6 saves) all stopped every shot they faced.

Liberty Division Tilts: A pair of Liberty division tilts saw two teams comeback from 2-1 second half deficits to post opening day victories. In the first game, Kelly exploded for three goals in the last 20 minutes to comeback to win 4-2. Vincent Spaziante (Thornwood, N.Y., 1G, 1A) produced two points in the second half to pace Kelly.

In the second game, White scored three goals in the final 10:54 to comeback from a 2-1 deficit and defeat Navy, 4-3. Douglas Weight (Lattingtown, N.Y., 2G) and Kenny Riddett (Fishkill, N.Y., 2A) each produced two points to lead the White attack.

First Shootout: In the final game of the day, Gray and Royal squared off in the first shootout of the tournament in a 2-2 tie. Harrison Schreiber (Larchmont, N.Y.) provided the shootout winner for Gray.
