As part of a visit to the Philadelphia area this past weekend, Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux donated $5,000 of hockey equipment to local girls involved with the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation.

The donation corresponded with the Lamoureux’s participation in a skills clinic held on March 3 at the Scanlon Rink. During their stay, the sisters took in a Flyers game and toured the city.

As part of their partnership with the Lamoureux sisters, CCM provided the equipment that was donated by the two-time Olympic silver medalists in support of the National Hockey League’s Hockey is for Everyone (HIFE) initiatives.

“We would like to thank Jocelyne and Monique for their generosity,” said Scott Tharp, President, Snider Hockey. “These two are role models for our female student athletes. With this donation we can further increase our participation while ultimately helping deserving youngsters succeed in the game of life.”

As student athletes at the University of North Dakota, the Lamoureux sisters got to know Philadelphia Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol while he was head coach of the men’s hockey team at UND.

"Monique and I are excited to partner with CCM and donate to the Snider Hockey Foundation,” said Jocelyne Lamoureux. “We have made it our mission to grow the game and we know our friend Dave Hakstol shares this vision. We are happy to help do all we can at home in North Dakota and with him in Philadelphia.”

The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, which invests in the inner city and creates opportunity for underserved Philadelphia youth, had more than 250 young women participate in Snider Hockey girls only programs this season.

The Lamoureux sisters have won five International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championships, and were named to the roster that will  represent Team USA at the 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Plymouth, Michigan at USA Hockey Arena from March 31-April 7.
