Bjork Named to 2017 U.S. Men's National Team

Roster Now Includes 18 Players

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Forward Anders Bjork (Mequon, Wis./University of Notre Dame) has been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship May 5-21 in Cologne, Germany, and Paris, France.

Bjork will be representing Team USA for the third time. He was previously a member of the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland. Bjork’s tournament was highlighted by a two-goal performance and U.S. Player of the Game honors in the bronze-medal victory over Sweden. He also collected two goals in seven games as a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team at the 2014 IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship in Lappeenranta and Imatra, Finland.

Bjork recently completed his junior season at Notre Dame. He tallied 52 points (21-31) in 39 games en route to being named a second-team All-American, Top-10 Hobey Baker Memorial Award Finalist and First-Team All-Hockey East selection. He helped the Irish reach the NCAA Frozen Four with five points (2-3) at the NCAA Tournament’s Northeast Regional and was named the regional’s most outstanding player. Bjork has 109 points (40-69) in 115 career games at Notre Dame.

The U.S. Men’s National Team now includes 10 forwards, five defensemen and three goaltenders.
