U.S. Development Team Shuts Out Canada, 7-0

Zych scores three goals, LeMarre collects shutout

MONTREAL -- Kyle Zych (South Hadley, Mass.) scored three goals and Griffin LaMarre (Havervill, Mass.) stopped all six shots he faced to lead the U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team past Canada, 7-0, for its second consecutive shutout at the Defi Sportif AlterGo event in Montreal.

Zych opened the scoring just 1:40 into the game when he finished a passing play from Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) and David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.). Josh Hargis (Colorado Springs, Colo.) then made it 2-0 for the U.S. when he connected on the power play with :41 remaining in the first period.

The U.S. scored again 5:49 into the middle frame when Zych added his second goal of the game with Eustace and Misiewicz again tallying assists. Robert Easley (Niceville, Fla.) then made it 4-0 with less than two minutes to go in the period.

Eustace scored 3:26 into the final frame before Zych finished his hat trick with 4:44 to play. Eustace then tallied his second goal of the game with :27 remaining to account for the 7-0 final. 

The U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team closes its series vs. Canada tomorrow when the two teams square off at 10:30 a.m. ET at Howie Morenz Arena in Montreal.

U.S. Paralympian Kip St. Germaine (East Falmouth, Mass.) is serving as associate head coach while U.S. Paralympian Mike Blabac (Hamburg, N.Y.) is an assistant coach alongside former U.S. National Sled Hockey Team player Craig Brady (Silver Spring, Mass.). Also on the Team USA staff is equipment manager Bill Sandberg (Parker, Colo.), physiotherapist Rett Talbot (Delray Beach, Fla.), and team doctor Dr. Laura Dunne (Allentown, Pa.).
