Blue, White Rosters Set for 2017 WJSS

USA Hockey announced today the Team Blue and Team White rosters for the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase that will take place at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, July 28-August 5.

On Aug. 2, Team USA will trim its roster and a single U.S. squad will finish the camp with practices and games against Canada, Finland and Sweden.

Team Blue will be coached by Grant Potulny (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Dan Muse (Geneva, Ill.) while Team While will be led by Greg Brown (Scituate, Mass.) and Toby Pederson (Minneapolis, Minn.). 

Tickets to the games are available at the USA Hockey Arena Box Office (14900 Beck Road, Plymouth, Michigan) or by calling (734) 453-8400 or at USAHockeyArena.com. All sessions are day tickets (one price for both games) and will be general admission with the exception of Saturday, August 5, which will have reserved seating. Games on Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30, are $5, while games on Tuesday, August 1, Wednesday, August 2 and Friday, August 4, will be $10. Tickets for Saturday, August 5, will be $15. Parking is free with the exception of August 5, where there will be a $5 charge per vehicle. For a complete game schedule, see below.

NOTES: On June 20, USA Hockey named the 42 players invited to the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase. For the complete roster, click here ... Forward Will Lockwood (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Univ. of Michigan) will attend camp but not participate in games due to injury ... Of the 42 players selected, 24 are alumni of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, including 23 whose NTDP seasons took place at USA Hockey Arena ... In total, 34 players are NHL Draft selections, including 10 first-round selections in Kieffer Bellows (2016, N.Y. Islanders, 19th ovr.), Logan Brown (2016, Ottawa, 11th ovr.), Trent Frederic (2016, Boston, 29th ovr.), Max Jones (2016, Anaheim, 24th ovr.), Casey Mittelstadt (2017, Buffalo, 8th ovr.), Josh Norris (2017, San Jose, 19th ovr.), Jake Oettinger (2017, Dallas, 26th ovr.), Ryan Poehling (2017, Montreal, 25th ovr.), Riley Tufte (2016, Dallas Stars, 25th ovr.) and Kailer Yamamoto (2017, Edmonton, 22nd ovr.) ... The United States, which enters the 2018 tournament having medaled in back-to-back IIHF World Junior Championships for the second time ever (2010 - gold, 2011 - bronze), aims to claim a third-straight medal in tournament play for the first time in history ...
