Visits to Nike's Bo Jackson Fitness Center, University of Oregon Highlight visit

The 2017-18 U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey Team visited Oregon for a few days of off-ice training and team-building from Aug. 25-Aug. 30. The trip marked the first time that the 2017-18 national team players and staff came together as a group ahead of its move to Wesley Chapel, Florida, where the team will train together in the lead-up to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

During its visit to Oregon, the national team spent three days training at NIKE’s Bo Jackson Fitness Center in Beaverton, and one day in Eugene training on the University of Oregon’s campus.

In addition to training and team-building, the U.S. women had a surprise visitor, Cammi Granato, member of the historic gold medal-winning 1998 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team. Granato gave inspirational talks and invaluable advice to the women’s team in its pursuit for the U.S.’s second Olympic gold.

Team USA will continue its journey to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in a series of games this fall and winter as part of The Time is Now Tour, presented by Toyota.

The Tour, which will open with a game against Canada on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Boston University’s Agganis Arena, will serve as an exciting glimpse of what’s to come in PyeongChang for a team that has been highly successful over the past decade. Currently ranked No. 1 in the world by the International Ice Hockey Federation, Team USA has won the seven of the last eight IIHF Women’s World Championships, including the last four.
