Morin, Skarupa To Train With U.S. Women’s National Team

2018 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team roster will be announced on Jan. 1, 2018

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced that Sidney Morin (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Haley Skarupa (Rockville, Md.) have been added to the 24 players currently in consideration for a spot on the final 2018 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team roster, which will be announced on Jan. 1, 2018.

Morin, who helped lead the 2013 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team to a silver medal at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championship, has played 21 games for MODO Hockey of the Swedish Women’s Hockey League this season, where she has recorded 10 goals and 22 assists. Morin also played four seasons with the University of Minnesota Duluth (2013-2017).

Skarupa, who has helped the U.S. win gold medals in three IIHF Women’s World Championships (2015, 2016, 2017), has played six games for the Boston Pride of the National Women’s Hockey League in 2017-18, and has recorded three goals and four assists. Skarupa also played four seasons with Boston College (2012-2016).

NOTES: The final 2018 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team – which will consist of 23 players, including three goaltenders – is expected to be announced on Jan. 1, 2018 … For full coverage of the U.S. Women’s National Team, click here.
