1979 IIHF World Junior Championship - Karlstad, Sweden

The 1979 U.S. National Junior Team, the first to include future U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inductees, finished with a 2-3-0 (W-L-T) record at the 1979 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Karstad, Sweden. 

Highlighting Team USA's roster were four players who would go on to be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, including Aaron Broten (2007 inductee), Neal Broten (2000 inductee), Dave Christian (2001 inductee) and Mike Ramsey (2001 inductee). Neal Broten, Christian and Ramsey skated together on the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team that won the gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, New York after defeating the Soviet Union in the 'Miracle on Ice'.
