Jon Gomez | Communications

Jon Gomez, manager of communications for USA Hockey, is serving on the staff of a U.S. National Sled Hockey Team for the second consecutive year. He also served on the bronze medal-winning U.S. National Junior Team at the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland.

During his time with the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, Gomez has served on teams that have claimed three titles, including the 2015 World Sled Hockey Challenge in Leduc, Alberta; the 2015 IPC Sled Hockey World Championship in Buffalo, New York; and the 2016 World Sled Hockey Challenge in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Gomez, who joined USA Hockey’s national office as the manager of communications in December 2014, is responsible for media services for the U.S. National Junior Team and U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. 

Previously, Gomez served as the media services manager for USA Team Handball where he was the primary media contact for the organization’s residency program and national teams, and also with Hill+Knowlton Strategies as an analyst in the global chairman’s office. He also completed an internship with U.S. Paralympics where he contributed to communication efforts during the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

A 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University, Gomez earned his bachelor’s degree in English and threw javelin as a member of Texas A&M’s track and field program.
