Yani Zinis

Yani Zinis, D.O., Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is serving as a team physician for USA Hockey for the sixth time. In addition to serving on the staff of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team, Zinis has been a part of three U.S. Men’s National Teams (2005, 2007, 2012) and one Deutschland Cup team (2004). 

Dr. Zinis was a staff physician for the United States Olympic Committee at the 2005 Summer World University Games in Turkey. He also contributed to Team USA at the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. USA Basketball has also utilized Zinis as a team physician. 

He has been a consulting physician for the National Hockey League's Colorado Avalanche since 1996. He also held the same role for the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets from 1996-2009.

Dr. Zinis has been in practice at Orthopedic Associates in Denver, Colorado, since 1996. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College. Zinis then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a rotating internship through Sun Coast Hospital in Florida. His Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency was at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

Dr. Zinis and his, Kristin, reside in Denver, Colorado, with their three daughters, Sofia, Gabrielle and Stella.
