The 2005 U.S. Men’s National Team posted a 3-1-2 (W-L-T) record through the preliminary and qualifying rounds, but had its run stopped in a 3-2 shootout loss to Czech Republic in the quarterfinals of the 2006 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship. The U.S. finished sixth in the tournament.
