Joel Isaacson

Joel Isaacson is in his sixth season as equipment manager for the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. He also served as equipment manager for the 2005 U.S. Men's University Select Team in Innsbruck, Austria.

During his time with the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, Isaacson has served on teams that have claimed five titles, including one Paralympic gold medal (2014), two world championships (2012, 2015), two World Sled Hockey Challenge titles (2012, 2015) as well as the 2013 USA Hockey Sled Cup, 2016 IPC Pan-Pacific Championship and 2018 Turin Para Ice Hockey International Tournament.

Additionally, Isaacson served on the Team USA staff that earned runner-up finishes at the 2011 (Nov.) World Sled Hockey Challenge, 2013 IPC Sled Hockey World Championship, 2013 World Sled Hockey Challenge, and 2017 Para Sled Hockey World Championship as well as third-place finishes at the 2011 (Apr.) World Sled Hockey Challenge in London, Ontario.

Named Michigan Tech's associate athletic director for external relations in 2013, Isaacson is in charge of all corporate sponsorships, marketing, promotions and ticketing within the university's athletic department.

Isaacson has served full time in the athletic department for 16 years, including the first four as equipment manager. He became operations manager and also took on NCAA compliance responsibilities in 2005. All told, Isaacson has a 20-year resume in the Michigan Tech athletics department since he served as manager for the hockey team while a student. He graduated with a degree in management information systems from Michigan Tech in 2001.

Isaacson resides in Hancock, Mich., and has two children, Aidan and Kiera.
