2017 IIHF Men's World Championship

Cologne, Germany & Paris, France | May 2-18

The U.S. Men’s National Team skated to a fifth place finish at the 2017 IIHF Men’s World Championship with a 6-0-0-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) mark after tying a U.S. record with six consecutive wins in the preliminary round en route to finishing atop Group A. After falling to Germany, 1-2, to open tournament play, the U.S. defeated Denmark, 7-2; Sweden, 4-3; Italy, 3-0; Latvia, 5-3; Slovakia, 6-1 and Russia, 5-3, before falling to Finland, 0-2, in the quarterfinal round.
