One of the greatest rivalries in sports renewed in February 2019 when the women's national teams from the U.S. and Canada competed in a three-game series held Feb. 12-17.
The U.S. won the opening game in London, Ontario, with Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) scoring the game-winning goal and Alex Rigsby (Delafield, Wis.) recording a 33-save shutout to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
Canada struck back in game two, claiming a 4-3 win over Team USA in Toronto despite eight members Americans getting onto the score sheet.
In the series finale at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, the U.S. fell to Canada, 2-0, despite a 15-save outing for Rigsby.
