2024 IIHF Men's World Championship

Ostrava & Prague, Czechia | May 10-26, 2024

The 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship will be played May 10-26, in Ostrava, Czechia & Prague, Czechia. The U.S. Men's National Team will compete in Group B alongside France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Poland, Sweden and Slovakia. All Group B games will be played at Ostrava Arena in Ostrava, Czechia, while Group A will take place at Prague Arena in Prague, Czechia.

In 2023, the U.S. finished the preliminary round first in Group B to set up a matchup with Czechia in the quarterfinals. The U.S. advanced to the semifinals for the third straight year with a 3-0 win. Ultimately, Team USA fell to Germany, 4-3, in the semifinals and then dropped the bronze medal game to Latvia to finish the world championship fourth of 16 teams. 

In total, the U.S. has earned 13 podium finishes, including one gold medal (1933), four silver medals (1950, 1939, 1934, 1931) and eight bronze medals (2021, 2018, 2015, 2013, 2004, 1996, 1952, 1949).
