The 2024 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship was held April 25 – May 5, in Espoo and Vantaa, Finland. The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team competed in Group A alongside Finland, Latvia, Norway, and Slovakia from Metro Arena in Espoo, Finland, and went 4-0-0-0 (W-OTW-L-OTL) in the preliminary round before defeating Switzerland, 4-0, in the quarterfinals and Slovakia, 7-2, in the semifinals.
Team USA went on to face Canada in the gold-medal game, ultimately falling by a 6-4 tally to earn the silver medal.
The U.S. has won gold 11 times at the IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship and has captured six silver medals and three bronze medals at the competition. The U.S. won its first gold at the event in 2002.
