The U.S. Under-18 Men's Select Team finished the tournament with a record of 3-1-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L), securing its first championship at the event since 2003 following a victory over Sweden.
The eight-team tournament featured two groups; Group A and Group B. Group A played its preliminary-round games in Brno, Czechia, at Winning Group Arena, while Group B played its prelim games at Pavol Demitra Ice Stadium in Trenčín, Slovakia.
The U.S. competed in Group B against Germany, Sweden and Slovakia. Group A consists of Czechia, Canada, Finland and Switzerland.

The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is an annual best-on-best under-18 tournament held each August. The competition began in 1991 and has had several names, including the Phoenix Cup (1991), Pacific Cup (1992-93, 1995-96), La Copa Mexico (1994), USA Hockey Festivals (1997-98), Four/Three Nations Tournament (1999-2001), Junior World Cup (2002-2005), Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (2006-2017) and now, the Hlinka Gretzky Cup (2018-present).
