The 2025 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship was held in Frisco and Allen, Texas, from April 23-May 3, 2025. The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team competed in Group B alongside Czechia, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland from Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, and went 4-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in the preliminary round before defeating Latvia, 6-3, in the quarterfinals but fell to Sweden, 4-3, in the semifinals.
Team USA went on to face Slovakia in the bronze-medal game and won in overtime, 4-3, as Benjamin Kevan (Fairfield, Calif.) scored the game-winning goal to capture bronze.
The U.S. has won gold 11 times at the IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship and has captured six silver medals and four bronze medals at the competition. Its 11 golds and 21 total medals are the most among any competing countries. The U.S. won its first gold at the event in 2002. The 2025 tournament was played on U.S. soil for the fourth time in tournament history.
