    • Uncle, Dave Christian, won Olympic gold with the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team in Lake Placid, N.Y.,  played more than 1,000 NHL games and played for the University of North Dakota. 
    • Great uncle, Gordon "Ginny" Christian, earned a silver medal with the 1956 U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. He also played at North Dakota
    • Uncle, Eddie Christian, lettered for UND from 1980 to 1984
  • Played three seasons of varsity hockey for Warroad High School before attending North Dakota
