A nominee for Olympic/Paralympic Male Athlete of the Month, Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) led all skaters in goals (7) and points (13) as the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team claimed the 2016 World Sled Hockey Challenge for the second consecutive year. Farmer — who registered at least a point in all five games and tallied a hat trick in the victory over Korea — set the U.S. record for points in a World Sled Hockey Challenge with 13 to surpass his record of nine points (3-9) from last year’s event. Additionally, his seven goals tied the U.S. record for most goals in a single World Sled Hockey Challenge. Overall, Farmer was involved in 13 of Team USA’s 21 goals in the tournament.
