TORONTO – Team USA arrived here at 3 a.m. and checked into its host hotel.
The U.S. did not practice here today and will return to the ice tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Ricoh Coliseum, the home of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. The World Cup of Hockey 2016 officially begins for Team USA on Saturday (Sept. 17) against Team Europe.
After catching on sleep, players and staff spend the day catching up on personal business, including things like grocery shopping in preparation for family arrivals, haircuts, and doing laundry. In addition, captain Joe Pavelski visited with the news media on a teleconference, while Jack Johnson appeared on NHL Tonight on NHL Network.
