- Son of Brent and Kim
- Father, Brent, spent time in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, and Los Angeles Kings after being selected 39th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1989 NHL Draft. As a coach, led the Alaska Aces to the ECHL Kelly Cup Championship in 2010-11 season and is currently the head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League
