January 19: Day One

On its first day in Italy, the U.S. arrived just before lunch time and checked into the tournament hotel before relaxing ahead of its first skate from 5-6:20 p.m. local time.

FROM CHICAGO TO 'TORINO'
For Team USA, the journey to Torino started in Chicago, where the squad trains at West Meadows Ice Arena as part of its Residency Program. The actual journey to Italy started with an early morning departure from West Meadows, an afternoon flight that stopped in Frankfurt, Germany, for a brief layover before finally arriving in Torino just before noon local time. 

THE FURY - TO SOUTH KOREA
As part of United Airlines campaign ahead of the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, U.S. National Sled Hockey Team alternate captain and defenseman Nikko Landeros was dubbed 'The Fury.' For more on United's "Team USA - To South Korea" campaign, click here.
