The U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team opened play today at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games with a 10-0 victory over Japan. After the game, the team attended a function with Toyota, a sponsor of the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team.

In its first game of the tournament, Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) scored three goals and added an assist while Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) collected a goal and three assists to lead the United States to its tournament-opener. In total, nine different U.S. players scored a goal and Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) stopped two shots in the shutout win. For the complete recap, click here.

FOUR TALLY POINTS IN PARALYMPIC DEBUTS
Today's 10-0 win over Japan saw all three U.S. players skating in their Paralympic debuts register at least a point. Noah Grove (Frederick, Md.), Luke McDermott (Westerlo, N.Y.) and Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) each scored while Ralph DeQuebec (San Pedro, Calif.) added a pair of assists.
     "It was fantastic, but the most important part was we got a team win," said Grove. "Everyone's buying into the team game and we were moving the puck around real well."

TEAM USA WELCOMED BY TOYOTA
For dinner, the 2018 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team and several other U.S. Paralympic athletes attending a function just down the road from the PyeongChang Paralympic Village hosted by Toyota. With family and friends in attendance, a number of Team USA's athletes were able to enjoy downtime with family for the first time since arriving in Korea.
