May 2: Day 4

With the team not returning to its hotel until close to midnight following last night's 3-2 exhibition win over Denmark, the U.S. had a late breakfast before returning to the ice for a noon skate at the KVIK Hockey Arena.

PREPPING FOR JYSKE BANK BOXEN
After practice, the team's players and staff packed their bags as the support staff got underway with the relocation process of moving Team USA into the Jyske Bank Boxen ahead of Friday's tournament-opening game against Canada. The arena is part of the Messecenter Herning, the largest fair and exhibition center in Denmark. Located on 130 acres, the complex is one of the main attractions in Herning and draws a crowd of over 900,000 visitors per year.

COLEMAN JOINS TEAM USA
This afternoon, New Jersey Devils forward Blake Coleman joined the U.S., bringing the team's player-count to 23. A native of Plano, Texas, Coleman will be representing the United States in an international tournament for the first time. In 2009-10, Coleman started his first USHL season with the Tri-City Storm before a mid-season trade saw him join Jeff Blashill's Indiana Ice. The following season, Coleman registered a league-best 92 points and 58 assists and went on to earn USHL Player of the Year, USHL Forward of the Year and USHL First All-Star Team honors while also being recognized by USA Hockey as its 2011 Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year. After a four-year stint at Miami University, which included two conference championships and 2015 NCHC Tournament MVP honors, Coleman signed with the New Jersey Devils and spent a season with its AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, before making his NHL debut in 2016-17.

ROSTER SPOTLIGHT: U.S. COACHING STAFF'S COLLEGE ROOTS
While 18 of the 23 U.S. players may hail from the college ranks, so does all four members of Team USA's coaching staff. Head coach Jeff Blashill (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) skated four seasons (1994-98) at Ferris State University, including two seasons with U.S. assistant coach Seth Appert (Cottage Grove, Minn.), who also played goaltender from 1992-96. Additionally, Dan Bylsma (Grand Haven, Mich.) played four years (1988-1992) for Bowling Green State University while Don Granato (Downers Grove, Ill.) skated four seasons (1987-91) for the late Jeff Sauer, a 2014 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, at the University of Wisconsin. In 1990, Granato and the Badgers claimed an NCAA National Championship with a 7-3 win over Colgate.
