Patrick Kane (Buffalo, N.Y.) tallied three points, including a goal and two assists, and Keith Kinkaid (Farmingville, N.Y.) recorded his second shutout in as many games as the 2018 U.S. Men's National Team earned a 3-0 victory over Germany in its third preliminary round game of the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship. BLASHILL LEADS U.S. THROUGH HISTORIC STRETCH
Including today's game, the U.S. is now 8-1-0-2 in 11 games under head coach Jeff Blashill. With nine wins in its last 10 tournament games, the U.S. is currently in its best tournament stretch since winning 12 of 14 across the 1931, 1933 and 1934 tournaments (no tournament in 1932). The U.S. has also won its first two tournament games for the seventh time in its last 10 Men's World Championships. 

LOOK AHEAD: TWO OFF DAYS BEFORE LATVIA
The United States (2-1-0-0/W-OTW-OTL-L) will enjoy two days without a game before it returns to action Thursday (May 10) against Latvia at 4:15 p.m. local time/10:15 a.m. ET. That game, along with all U.S. Men's World Championship games, will be broadcast live on NHL Network.

ROSTER SPOTLIGHT: MINNESOTA BOYS
Four players on this year's U.S. Men's National Team hail from Minnesota. Goaltender Charlie Lindgren grew up playing within the Lakeville Youth Hockey program while forward Anders Lee spent time in Edina's youth hockey program. Additionally, defenseman Neal Pionk skated for Hermantown's youth hockey program while Nick Jensen played for youth hockey programs in Rogers, Minnesota. All four went on to skate in the United States Hockey League before moving on to the collegiate ranks. The four each spent time in the NHL this past season, with Lee leading all U.S. NHL players with 40 goals.
