Team USA will travel to Japan on Wednesday in hopes of returning to the U.S. with a fifth consecutive gold medal from the Under-18 Women's World Championship.
The U.S. has won the past four Under-18 Women's World Championships in Dmitrov, Russia, Zlin and Prerov, Czech Republic, St. Catherines, Ontario and Buffalo, New York.
Over those four tournaments, the U.S. has compiled a record of 14-5-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T). Since the tournament's inception in 2008, Team USA has won gold in seven of 11 years.
ONE FINAL SKATE
Team USA wrapped up its preparation for the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship with a final practice on Tuesday. The team will spend the rest of Tuesday preparing for their trip with a team meeting and some packing before departing for Japan on Wednesday morning.
