FAMILY TIME
Team USA had a day off between games today and members of the team were able to spend some time with their families who came along for the journey in Japan.
Following a strength and conditioning session, players were given some time to explore Obihiro with their families. Some players enjoyed local restaurants with Japanese cuisine while others strolled through the city and took in some of the culture.
Following a few hours with family, members of Team USA were back on the ice at Obihiro Forest Ice Arena for practice before Wednesday's clash with Sweden.
READY TO CLINCH
Team USA's matchup with Sweden on Wednesday will be the final preliminary round game of the tournament. With a victory over the Swedes, Team USA would clinch a spot in the semifinals of the tournament and wait until Saturday before playing another game.
The U.S. holds a 10-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record against Sweden all-time in IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship play. The two teams last met on Jan. 13, 2018 in the gold medal game of the 2018 tournament, where the U.S. earned a 9-3 win and its fourth consecutive gold medal.
