TEAM PHOTO DAY
As is tradition before the IIHF World Championship, Team USA had its formal portraits and on-ice team photo taken today before practice. The whole team and staff lined up for the team photo with the players sporting their all-white uniforms, but before that, they stopped for a quick selfie.

FUN WITH FOOD
Team dietician Shelly Guzman is always coming up with fun, new creations for the USWNT to try. In honor of National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day, she created “PB & J” energy bites and the post-practice snack was a big hit among the players.

Full recipe:

  • 3.5 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 4 scoops whey protein powder (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • fruit jam of choice

In a large mixing bowl, combine cereal, protein powder (if using) and salt. Mix well.

Then add peanut butter and honey, and mix until thoroughly combined (kneading the mixture with clean hands works best). If mixture seems too dry, add a little more peanut butter and honey.

Chill mixture for 15-20 minutes in the refrigerator. Once chilled, portion out 2 tablespoons and press flat. Put 1/2 teaspoon of jam in the center and fold the peanut butter cereal mixture around the jam, gently patting into a ball. Enjoy immediately or chill again in the refrigerator!
