The USWNT hit the ice for practice this afternoon in the day following its 10-0 victory over Russia to cap off the preliminary round.

ON THE ICE
Energy was high this morning among the players and staff as evidenced by the cheering and singing on the bus ride over to the rink for practice. All 23 players hit the ice for practice this afternoon, which was all about pace, pace and more pace according to assistant coach Brian Pothier. The skate would serve as the U.S.’s final tune-up before the playoffs kick off tomorrow against Japan.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TIME
Team staff, players and their families went out for an evening on the town tonight for dinner in Helsinki. The group traveled downtown together via the metro, which is just steps from the team hotel in Espoo. The team host, Risto, selected the restaurant – O’Leary’s – as it is the same place he likes to bring all the U.S. teams he hosts for events here in Finland.
