USA Blue vs. USA White Scrimmage

Last night, the two teams met on the Olympic sheet where they played two 15-minute periods of five-on-five before an ice cut. After the cut, each team worked on special teams at five-minute intervals for a collective 20 minutes of ice time. Backed by a collective effort of all four goaltenders in Spencer Knight, Isaiah Saville, Drew DeRidder and Dustin Wolf, not a single goal was scored during the combined 50 minutes. In a five-round shootout, USA White's Trever Zegras netted the decisive goal to five his team a 1-0 win. Nick Robertson and Oliver Wahlstrom also tallied for USA White while Joel Farabee and Luke Toporowski connected for USA Blue.

College Ties

A combined 45 players skating this week have ties to college hockey. Boston College leads the way with a total of six former or committed players, including Oliver Wahlstrom and notable incoming first-round NHL draft picks in goaltender Spencer Knight (USA) and forwards Matthew Boldy (USA) and Alex Newhook (CAN). The University of Wisconsin ranks second with five skaters-- all U.S. players -- including fifth overall selection in this year's NHL Draft, Alex Turcotte and 2019 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship Tournament MVP, Cole Caufield.
