Game Day Preview:
The U.S. defeated Sweden 6-4 last night in its first pre-tournament game. As will be the theme during preliminary round games, the U.S. faces back-to-back competition as they’re set to face off against Germany today. Germany, who will be playing in Group B alongside the U.S., was promoted to the top division for the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship after playing in Division IA for the previous four years.
Team USA has held an advantage over Germany in World Junior Championship history, going 10-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in their 11 games. The teams have never faced one another outside of preliminary matchups. Tonight’s game will be streamed live here.
