Team USA began preliminary play at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship with back-to-back games, first with rival Canada and then Germany last night (Dec. 27). The win over Germany improved USA’s record in second games of back-to-back sets to 7-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in its last eight preliminary matches. The U.S. will face back-to-back games against Russia and Czech Republic to finalize Group B preliminary play, tomorrow (Dec. 29) and Mon. (Dec. 30).

In an effort to keep players fresh, the team held a morning stretch and went off-site for dinner. Follow USA Hockey social media channels for tournament updates, including game notes and line charts every game day.
