DAY 10: Today Team USA had its first off day of the tournament after posting a pair of wins over Finland and Russia to take a 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) into Canada tomorrow. The team practiced some flow drills, small scrimmages and special teams plays. After practice, the team spent the day relaxing at the hotel and watching a movie.

HIDDEN TALENTS: Rory Guilday (Chanhassen, Minn.) is not just a defensive hockey wiz, she's also pretty handy with a soccer ball. Check out her trick, and then ask her which type of nocturnal animal she can imitate!

AGAINST CANADA: The U.S. is 7-4-4-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) against Canada all-time in IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship play. The U.S. and Canada last met in the gold-medal game of last year's tournament when Canada defeated Team USA, 3-2, in overtime. Nineteen players participated in the 2019 Under-18 Series vs. Canada last August in Lake Placid, New York, as members of the U.S. Under-18 Women’s Select Team. Since the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship's inception in 2008, the United States has captured the gold medal seven times, facing Canada on six of those occasions. The U.S. and Canada have taken home gold and silver in all of the previous 12 tournaments.

NOTES: The IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship will be played for the 13th time in 2020 and includes teams from Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States  . . . The U.S. has played in the gold-medal game in each of the first 12 years of the event and earned seven gold medals (2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), more than any other nation. The U.S. has also taken home silver five times (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2019).
