Family

  • Brother, Anthony, played men's ice hockey at Tuft University for four seasons (2016-20)
  • Cousin, Ryan Donato, made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins during the 2017-18 season
    • Internationally, Donato most recently represented the United States at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. His five goals were tied for the most amongst all skaters. Donato also skated on the bronze medal-winning 2016 U.S. National Junior Team
    • Collegiately, Donato was an ECAC champion (2016-17), a Hobey Baker Award finalist and the ECAC player of the year (2017-18) during his three-year career with Harvard University
  • Uncle, Ted Donato (and father to Ryan), played 796 games with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers, collecting 347 points
    • Internationally, Donato competed in the 1988 World Junior Championships, 1992 Winter Olympics and the World Cup of Hockey in 1997, 1999 and 2002. He is also serving as an assistant coach for the 2021 U.S. National Junior Team.
    • Donato has been the head coach for the Harvard University men's hockey team since 2004
