The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will conclude its 2018-19 campaign at the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship at Ostravar Arena in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Tournament play begins Saturday (April 27) and concludes with bronze- and gold-medal games on May 4.

The 2019 tournament will introduce a new format that places the top four teams in the world rankings forming Group A and the next four in Group B. The top two finishers from Group A will earn a quarterfinal bye to the semifinals. The third-place finisher in Group A will face the second-place finisher in Group B while the other quarterfinal game will place Group A's fourth-place team against Group B's top finisher.

All U.S. games, beginning with its tournament-opening tilt against Canada on Saturday (April 27), will be aired by Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. In addition, all U.S. games, quarterfinals, semifinals and medal games will be streamed live on olympicchannel.com while the gold-medal game will also be aired by NBCSN tape-delayed on May 4 at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The United States enters the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship with a 2018-19 season record of 6-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) that includes capturing the 2019 Para Hockey Cup last December in London, Ontario. To date, the U.S. has won three gold medals (2009, 2012, 2015) in the world championship's nine-year history and seeks its sixth-straight gold-medal game berth. This is the second time the tournament will take place in Ostrava, which hosted the 2009 event where the United States captured its first-ever world championship.
