The U.S. National Sled Team will close out the preliminary round of the 2019 Canadian Tire Para Hockey Cup today against Canada. Puck drop is slated for 5:30 p.m. ET at the Paradise Double Ice Complex and the game will be streamed live here.
Team USA is undefeated 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) so far this tournament after defeating Russia, 3-0, on Monday and the Czech Republic, 8-0, on Tuesday.
THE LAST TIME OUT...
The last time the U.S. and Canada met was in the gold-medal game of the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship back on May 4, 2019 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
After trailing Canada on two occasions, Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) scored the equalizing goal with 3:26 left in regulation to force overtime and then Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) notched the game-winning goal in overtime to secure Team USA its fourth gold medal in world championship history.
THE SERIES
The U.S. is 8-3-1-9 (W-OTW-OTL-L) overall against Canada at the Para Hockey Cup tournament. In the tournament's 12-year history, the two have met in the championship game eight times, including the last four consecutive championship games. Team USA is 4-2-0-2 against Canada in Para Hockey Cup championship games.
The 2019 Para Hockey Cup semifinals will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 10:30 a.m. ET and 5:30 p.m. ET at the Paradis Double Ice Complex. Both semifinal games will be streamed live here.
