CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS - Since the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship's inception in 2008, the United States has captured the gold medal seven times, facing Canada on six of those occasions. The U.S. and Canada have taken home gold and silver in all of the previous 12 tournaments.

She currently leads the team in scoring with three assists, including the game-winning assist in wins against both Finland and Russia. In addition, Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.) is on the hunt for her 10th goal in Under-18 Women's World Championship play. In three tournament appearances, Murphy has tallied nine goals and 12 points in 11 games, averaging over a point per contest.
