VICTORIA, B.C. – The U.S. Women’s National Team resumes the 2019-20 Rivalry Series against Canada tonight (Feb. 3) at 7:30 p.m. PT at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. The game will be broadcasted live on NHL Network.
GAMEDAY: Today will marks the third contest of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series, a five-game series between the U.S. and Canada. The first event of its kind between the rival nations took place in a three-game format last February. Fans can catch all the action live in the U.S. by tuning into NHL Network, and following along with @USAHockey using #RivalrySeries on Twitter.
LAST TIME OUT: Team USA enters the February portion of the Rivalry Series 2-0 after he defeating Canada, 4-1, in the series opener in Hartford, Conn., on Dec. 14 before earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Canadians in Moncton, N.B., on Dec. 17.
VETERAN TALENT: Team USA's roster features 18 players who have skated in a Winter Olympic Games and 20 who have played in an IIHF Women's World Championship. In addition, fifteen skaters on the roster competed in last year's Rivalry Series.
GOLDEN X2: Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) became the first woman to win gold as both a player and a coach at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships. After winning gold at both the 2008 and 2009 tournaments as a player, Decker served as an assistant coach for the gold-medal winning U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team at the 2020 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia.
