U.S. Meets Tournament Host Latvia at 9:15 a.m. ET

U.S. takes on second-place Latvia live on NHL Network

The U.S. Men's National Team meets tournament host Latvia here today at the 2021 IIHF Men's World Championship. Puck drop is slated for 4:15 p.m. local time (9:15 a.m. ET) and will be broadcast live in the U.S. on NHL Network.

TEAM USA VS. TOURNAMENT HOST
It marks the seventh straight year the U.S. has faced the host country in tournament play. In those six previous meetings, Team USA has gone 3-3 (W-L) and outscored the host country, 17-14.

USA VS. LATVIA
Team USA is 9-1-0-3-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) against Latvia in tournament play. The teams last met in 2018, where the U.S. came from behind to win, 3-2, in overtime off a game-winning goal from Cam Atkinson and a two-assist night from Patrick Kane. Team USA's last loss to Latvia came in 2015 by a 6-5 decision.
