OSTRAVA, Czech Republic – Team USA will be looking to secure a quarterfinal bye as a top-2 seed in Group A with a win over South Korea today. The U.S. is a perfect 5-0-0-0 against South Korea, who formally was designated as Korea until the 2018 Paralympic Games, including a win over South Korea in the 2012 gold-medal game. The U.S. has outscored South Korea, 21-2, all-time.

This is the final preliminary matchup for Group A play, which features the top four teams in the tournament ahead of quarterfinal and semifinal matchups based on the 2019 Worlds final results: United States, Canada, South Korea and Czech Republic.

Brody Roybal and Josh Pauls are currently on six-game point streaks at Para Ice Hockey World Championships dating back to 2019 Worlds. Roybal has scored 10 points and six goals (6-4--10) in six games, while Pauls has scored 10 points and two goals (2-8--10) in his six games.

Declan Farmer and Kevin McKee combined hold every single tournament and career U.S. scoring record for Para Ice Hockey World Championships. So far, both forwards have been held scoreless. However, after studying film and spending time at morning skating working on finding chemistry with their lines, both players are looking to bust onto the scene today.

Today’s Opponent: South Korea

The Sled National Team has a perfect 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) series record against South Korea Sled Worlds, including a gold-medal victory over South Korea in 2012.
