COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Hockey’s series of national player development camps for boys and girls ages 15 to 18 will begin today in both Amherst, N.Y., and St. Cloud, Minn. The 2021 USA Hockey BioSteel Player Development Camps will focus on player development, as well as serve as evaluation camps for various international teams.

The Boys Select 17 Camp runs June 23-30 in Amherst, N.Y., and includes players born in 2004. The camp, in part, will be utilized to evaluate and ultimately select players that will make up the U.S. National Under-18 Men’s Select Team that will compete in the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia, August 2-7.
The Girls 16/17 Camp will be conducted from June 26-July 2 in St. Cloud Minn., and feature players born in 2004 and 2005. The camp, in addition to development, will be utilized to evaluate the remaining five forwards, four defense and four goalies for the Girls U18 Select Camp in July.
The Boys Select 16 Camp in Amherst, N.Y., will run from July 7-13 and include players born in 2005. The camp, in part, will help will be utilized to evaluate and ultimately select players for the U.S. National Under-17 Men’s Select Team that will compete in the 2021 Five Nations Tournament in Visp, Switzerland, August 16-21.
The Girls Under-18 Select Camp is set for July 16-22 in St. Cloud Minn., and features players born in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The camp will help in determining the players selected for the Under-18 National Festival in Blaine, MN, in August and the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that will compete in the 2022 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.
